“eunite: Uniting Cyprus for Business” Grant Award Ceremony was Held in Nicosia / One step closer to the Green Line Trade!

The Action “eunite: Uniting Cyprus for Business” is financed by the European Union (EU) under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).

 

The “eunite: Uniting Cyprus for Business”grant award ceremony  took place on 4th April 2024 in Nicosia. The event was organized in order to recognize and celebrate the award of financial grants to successful farmers and Food Business Organizations (FBO) applicants. The EU grant support enables the production facilities of these beneficiaries to attain compliance with EU Food Safety.

Three FBOs and 10 farmers signed Grant Contracts in this first phase of Module 1 of eunite project.

 

At the grant signing ceremony, attended by representatives of the European Commission, GIZ, local bodies, farmers and Food Business Operators, first grant agreements were signed with Food Business Operators and farmers to fully implement the required structural and operational changes in order to  comply with EU food safety and hygiene standards.

 

The aim of eunite project is to facilitate trade of the first PDO compliant Turkish Cypriot Halloumi/Hellim across the Green Line in an effort to facilitate the reunification of the island.
