eunite: Uniting Cyprus for Business keeps growing! We are excited to announce the kick-off a new EU funded project, eunite: AgriBusiness.
eunite: AgriBusiness has been designed to empower the Turkish Cypriot farming community, driving economic growth and promoting sustainability in Cyprus’s agriculture sector. By building an innovative Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS), the project will foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and EU alignment, supporting local farmers meet higher production standards. A key focus is on improving the quality and quantity of small ruminants’ milk, especially within the Halloumi/Hellim PDO framework, while strengthening partnerships across the island.
A kick-off meeting was held on October 3rd, with representatives from relevant local bodies, the European Commission, Sustainable Food Systems Ireland (SFSI), Sheep Ireland and GIZ coming together to reflect on the planed actions and immediate steps to be taken. In the coming months, the team will run its inception period to agree on the project’s scope, objectives, and plan, ensuring all stakeholders align on expectations and necessary resources before full implementation begins as of January 2025.
The eunite Programme is funded by the EU Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and implemented by GIZ International Services.
