Call for Expression of Interest Experts to Act as Agricultural Advisors

Background

eunite:AgriBusiness is part of eunite: Uniting Cyprus for Business, an initiative funded by the EU Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community. Our mission is to strengthen Turkish Cypriot agriculture and fisheries sectors by fostering knowledge transfer, innovation, and market integration through an EU-aligned Agriculture Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS). The project aims to support farmers, fishermen, advisors, researchers, and agribusinesses by providing:  

  • Support for the provision of an EU-aligned Agriculture Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) in the TCc.  
  • Training & Advisory Services to improve skills and production practices.  
  • Research & Demonstration activities showcasing innovative and sustainable solutions.  
  • Support for High-Potential Value Chains to boost competitiveness and trade.  
  • Support for bi-communal cooperation in Cyprus. 

Scope of this Call

This call seeks to identify a pool of qualified experts interested in serving as advisors to farmers, fishermen, rural enterprises, and the broader agri-business community. Selected advisors will be invited to participate in project-organized training sessions and preparatory workshops aimed at building and recognizing capacities to deliver a wide range of advisory services. These trainings will be offered free of charge. Experts who demonstrate strong motivation, relevant knowledge, and practical skills will be considered for engagement by the project to provide technical support in areas such as agriculture and food production standards compliance, innovative practices and technologies, and access to funding opportunities, including potential EU-funded grant schemes. 


Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Interested applicants (individuals) must hold as a minimum: 

  1. A university degree in any of the following fields: agriculture, veterinary science, aquaculture, rural development, agricultural economics, finance, project management, environmental sciences, waste management or any other discipline relevant to the agri-food and fisheries sectors, natural resource management, or rural advisory and extension services.  
  2. Minimum of two years postgraduate experience working at various capacities in the agricultural/rural/fisheries sectors or agricultural related enterprises. 
  3. Candidates must be native Turkish speakers and have a good knowledge of the local agricultural context.  
  4. Excellent command of English both written and spoken.  
  5. Full computer literacy. 

Candidates employed in local bodies public sector are not eligible

How to apply 

Applications have to be in English language and are to be submitted electronically on the project’s e-mail at info@eunite-cyprus.eu by no later than April 30, 2025.

Interested applicants may request clarifications to this notice via the Project e-mail. Eligible candidates will be requested to attend an interview.
